So far, just over 1490 railway magazines have been indexed or partly indexed. This includes issues of Railway Modeller from 1949-1969 and various issues of Railway Modeller from 1970 to 2010 inclusive in dribs and drabs. Various issues of Model Rail, British Railway Modelling, Model Railways, Model Railway News, Model Railway Constructor, Railway Magazine, Railway World, Model Railway Journal, Model Trains and other magazines such as Model Engineer also have been indexed or partly indexed. Also 14 books about railways have so far been indexed, with references to their picture content. These references may prove of use to someone for finding a picture.

We have many more magazines to index, and lots more books to look at. Hopefully with more indexing being done, rather than just looking at magazines and reading articles.

Due to the nature of progress in the world of model railways, some things mentioned within this website may well have become obsolete (particularly pertaining to electrical matters) or may even be so far out of date to now be irrelevant. Product reviews spring to mind here too, the companies that produced them may well no longer be in business. Some of the products may also have been superceded with something bigger or far better, like controllers for instance.

All references are listed for historical interest only, especially references to layouts, which in the older magazines, will almost certainly now will have ceased to exist. Also pictures, picture quality wasn't as good as we have it now, most were black and white, a lot were not of very good quality.

Until we get a functioning search facility on our website again, we are happy to check our off-line index, which at the moment totals just over 31,700 records.

All informations is provided as is. Please see disclaimer notice.
