Once transmitted to a computer, the Michelangelo virus remained dormant until this day in 1992, when it released two destructive payloads. The first damaged files stored on floppy disks, and the second destroyed files on hard drives.

If an infected computer were booted up on March 6, the virus would erase certain portions of the hard drive.

2003 - Prime Minister Tony Blair promised that Iraq's oil would be placed out of the hands of Britain and the US following a war.
2006 - Died this day, Dana Reeve, widow of Superman star Christopher Reeve, and tireless crusader for spinal-cord injury research, of lung cancer. She was 44. She died at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Medical Center in New York.
